Perigueux

Perigueux, the Dordogne's capital city, is just 20km south an easy drive to the larger supermarkets and the main train station, plus easy access to the A89 motorway, which in turn takes you to nearby airports of Bergerac and Bordeaux.

The Cathedral lit up at night.

Brantome

Brantome, just 10 minutes away, is surrounded by water and a great tourist attraction in the Summer.  This little village has many great restaurants and bars with excellent French cuisine.

The village shops are mostly in the old quarter where you'll find trinkets galore.

No village would be complete without its weekly market and Brantome is no different.  Friday mornings are always busy, particularly in the Summer but the atmosphere of the market is unique.

St. Jean de Cole

St. Jean de Cole is just 5 minutes away, a beautiful little village with restaurants and bars.  The famous Floralies event is held every May and is a wonderful weekend attraction.

So many different varieties to choose from, so something for everyone.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is an amazing shopping and dining city, the history is amazing and the architecture is gorgeous.  Whether you just want to sit and watch the world go by, or visit the sites, there is so much to do.

One of the must visit sites is the Cite du Vin, here's a view from one of the onsite restaurants of the Garonne and the famous vertical-lift bridge, the Pont Jacques Chaban Delmas.

No visit to Bordeaux is complete without visiting the Fontaine du Char du Triomphe de la Concorde.

The Marche du Capucins is a wonderful experience, with such choices of wine and food, its hard to resist.

The famous Canele from Bordeaux a local delicacy.  Delicious!

Not forgetting the wonderful shellfish as the coast is so close.
