Le Chai was renovated by us in 2007 from the old wine making part of this building which dates back to the 1640s according to a date stone in the next door barn.
We have lovingly restored this whole building, retaining many of the original features, including the roof beams and stone walls. Some changes were necessary including double glazed windows & doors and insulating the new roof. Le Chai measures approximately 173 sq.mtrs.
This part of the building was originally used to store and make the wine from vines grown in the fields surrounding the Domaine.
The large entrance giving us clues as to the size of the vehicles used to collect grapes and of course to store the wine in barrels.

We loved creating this open plan cottage, making entertaining fun.

A fully equipped kitchen with a 90cm electric range, gives guests the freedom to look after themselves.

These doors open to a beautiful terrace overlooking the River Cole.

This is one of two master bedrooms with an ensuite shower room. Original features have been kept in the restoration to include roof beams and stonework.

This Shower Room is fitted with modern equipment.

This 2nd Master Bedroom features the original stone walls and roof beams, with an ensuite Shower Room

Here we have decorated in a traditional French style.

The ensuite Shower Room is fitted with modern equipment.

The house bathroom has a corner bath with shower hose.

This terrace is the perfect spot to listen to nature, it overlooks the River Cole, so you can hear the water running over the weir, just beautiful. In front are mature apple and cherry trees, plus a delicious Medlar bush.
